About Hadley Photography

I’m Kendra.

I’m Hadley’s mom. I like to tell stories. I’m an activist. I love people, and culture, and good food. I’m a romantic. And I don’t know any good jokes. I’m a city girl at heart, but like Fargo more than I care to admit.

I’m a photographer. It’s kind of my job. But really it’s my expression of all of the above.

I specialize in portrait, wedding, and lifestyle photography. This blog is to display some of my latest work (and other random musings).

This blog was started in May 2010 so it is new and growing. You can view archives from the previous hp blog at http://hadleyphotography.wordpress.com. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello I’m Amber, nice to meet you!

September 1st, 2010

I’m so excited to be the new intern at Hadley Photography Fargo!  I have had a passion for photography and art all my life, so this opportunity is a dream come true!  But before I tell you about all the fun I’m having with Kendra, I’d like to share a brief history of my life with you!

I grew up in a small town of 1,500 people about two hours north east of Fargo; Fosston, MN.  I loved animals, swimming, singing, music, my family, creating, photography and art.  I graduated from Fosston High School and started college at NDSU in the fall of 2008.  I knew immediately that I wanted to major in art.  I’m now a junior/3rd year at NDSU in the art program.

FUN as defined by Merriam-webster  is: “what provides amusement or enjoyment.”  Working with Kendra is not only incredibly FUN but amazing.  She is awe-inspiring and  a stupendous mentor!

Kendra and I shot a wedding two weekends ago  and here are a few of my favorite shots!

Everyone: Jenna and Kaleb!

They were all smiles!

They are official!

The father/daughter dance was a “Summer Lovin’” duet!

Carissa & Travis

August 26th, 2010

Carissa is a sorority sister from UND and she and Travis were SO much fun to photograph.  They stuck it out in the rain, and I’m so glad we did – how sweet are these??

Favorite!  I mean, I love every. single. one.  But this – it’s love!! :)

It’s hard to believe I’m photographing engagements for NEXT summer’s weddings already!  Can’t wait for this one!!

Meet Amber!

August 24th, 2010

Wow, time for this non-blogging to stop!

Amber is an art student at NDSU and my new life-saver / intern.  SO excited to have her as part of Hadley Photography this semester!!

We went out to the Old 52 store in Sabin, MN for a little photo shoot/lesson last week.  So…meet Amber!

Isn’t she gorgeous??  And totally fun.  Love these -

She and Hadley totally bonded = an intern essential.

Favorite!

SO excited to have her onboard!  Welcome to chaos, Amber. :)

Grant is 1!

August 18th, 2010

I met this little guy at Island Park for some classic one-year-cake-smashing pictures.

We had to get a few before he was covered in frosting:

But then he got to let loose on that birthday cake (and he didn’t hold back)!

LOVE this one!

Thanks, A family!

I miss her.

August 16th, 2010

I just finished my first meeting with my new intern (who I am SO excited to introduce you to because, well, she’s pretty much awesome), but I have to confess a little sadness that this season of hanging out with my little sister/best-intern-ever has come to an end.

No pressure, Amber, but you have big shoes to fill. :)

fun @ the lake

August 16th, 2010

This is turning into an annual event…my extended family spends a week out at the lake and I have the pleasure of photographing a couple of my cousin’s families.

Andrea & Jaden have two little guys who had been practicing their smiles:

And Mariah and Ryan have their hands full with twin 3-month olds and a just-turned-two year old.  I just had to imagine, because they were so sweet for pictures. :)

(I LOVE this one of Rowyn!)

Thanks, family. :)

The F Family

August 14th, 2010

How did I miss posting this beautiful family?

Kate was older than 2 weeks for this newborn shoot, but she was SO cooperative…perfectly sleepy and adorable.

We got some wonderful wide-eyed shots too -

And I’m a sucker for father-daughter pictures:

But I can’t even say that Kate stole the show, because big brothers Owen and Thomas were pretty awesome too:

And I LOVE family pictures like this – they’re what I consider Real. Life. :)

for the military families out there…

August 11th, 2010

This video made me cry my eyes out.  So, of course, I had to share.

Military Family Reunion

As a military brat whose dad spent lots of time away (including a one-year tour in Iraq), I would be honored to photograph your family as you send off your loved one or as you are reunited.  Shoot me an email {{kendra[at]hadleyphotographyfargo[dot]come}} to talk details.

back in Fargo and back to work!

August 11th, 2010

This summer has FLOWN by, hasn’t it??

I am back from L.A. and wish I could move back.  Tomorrow.

I have sent my summer intern back to school :( and begun interviews for my Fall 2010 intern :) .

I have photographed 18(!!) weddings since April and have 8 more to go before my 6 week vacation (when I might actually be able to catch up on blogging this crazy summer).  Whew.

Here’s a preview of a couple of beautiful July weddings:

As always…more soon!
